Dear Friends of Belgium in Hong Kong and Macao,

I am pleased to invite you to a concert of the Flemish Jozef Pauly Ensemble, on Saturday 10 July at 6pm at the Li Hall of St John's Cathedral (4 Garden Road). The group will then be in Hong Kong on its way to Australia for a concert tour. The eclectic program, which will last about one hour, includes works of Mozart, Shostakovitch, J.W. Bratton, and contemporary, surprising pieces. It will be followed by a drink in the garden of the Cathedral.

The Jozef Pauly Ensemble is linked to the J. Pauly Municipal Academy of Music and Word in Ekeren-Antwerp (Flanders, Belgium). It is based on a unique combination of a piccolo, flutes, alto flutes, bass flutes, a double-bass, guitars, a piano and percussion. Right from its start, it became known as a very dynamic musical ensemble. In addition to many concerts in Belgium, tours have taken them to the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, The Netherlands, Austria and the United States. In April 2001 the ensemble obtained a 1st prize in the National Flute Contest in the Netherlands. In July 2004, the Jozef Pauly Ensemble was the first Belgian group to play at the Millennium Stage of the Kennedy Centre in Washington.

We hope that you will join and support our travelling musicians ! Please confirm your presence to Ms Robbie Poon before 28 Juni.

Best regards,

Michel Malherbe
